Through the Eyes of a Child

So, obviously my meal tracking isn't going well.  Perhaps I'll try again after the baby is born.  Right now, I just want to try a daily dose of Thanksgiving.

Today, I am thankful for the patience of my girls.  It can't be easy to be around a pregnant mom who is constantly tired, crabby, and trying to do many, many things at once.  But, they persevere and above all still love me.  It's amazing to see how quickly they are willing to forgive me when I lose patience with them.  Hopefully I'll be able to remember this.

Absence

So I decided that in order to stay sane about the meal tracking thing, I would have to not count on the weekends.  Therefore, Saturday and Sunday are my days off.  However, I didn't mean to not keep tracking this week.  I've been trying to keep track, but being on the Relief Society Activity Committee and having an activity on Tuesday and then the power being out all day Wednesday left me with few alternatives.  So, here's my catch-up.

Monday:
Breakfast?  I don't remember.  I was doing well at that point though.
Fit Club:  Worked out with other moms for 45 mins at the park.
Lunch:  PB&J, carrots
Pumpkin cookies: we made them for Family Home Evening.
Dinner:  We were supposed to go downtown and eat with Derek, but that didn't work out so I think I had about 5 slices of bacon and a salad with tomatoes and cucumbers.

Tuesday:
was AWFUL!  I was pretty busy making a cookbook for the activity and a few people submitted their recipes on Tuesday...not too bad to handle, but then I couldn't print a copy to make copies from so I asked a friend, whose printer was also not working and finally drove downtown so that Derek could print it for me.  Then we went to make copies, but the door was locked.  We came home to do naps and I think I ate cookies and ??? for lunch.
Dinner: KFC chicken strips, biscuits, mashed potatoes.  We ate at the church while finishing the copying of the cookbooks.
Cupcakes at the activity.

Wednesday:
Breakfast, shake and leftover KFC biscuit (I love those!)
Made a commitment to be better.  Walked 30 mins to fit club.  Worked out 40 mins.  Walked home.  Ate lunch of pasta wheels, mixed w/sweet potato puree and spaghetti sauce.  Power went out.
Snack: a few pumpkin cookies
Dinner:  $5 pizza and breadsticks (power was still out--all night in fact.)

Thursday:
Breakfast: Shake (pb, banana, nesquick, milk, ice), two mini-pear muffins
Lunch:  Salad with bacon, tomato and cheddar cheese.  2 pumpkin cookies
Dinner:

Meal Tracker

I learned today at my 28 week appointment that I had gained 8 lbs in only four weeks.  While I understand that weight gain is inevitable during pregnancy and also a good thing, I've done this before and I don't want to gain 50+ lbs this time around.  So, I've got 12 weeks left and I'm going to try and track my food intake and exercise here.  Hopefully that will help me see what I'm eating and make adjustments accordingly.  Don't worry, there is almost zero danger of me not eating enough to sustain my baby.  I don't do extremes well.

Wednesday 9/15/10
1 clementine orange
1 nutrigrain bar (dr.'s apointment and I was late!)
25 oz water

1 bunch black grapes
5 baby carrots
1 tuna sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and cheese on whole wheat bread
12 oz water
9 hershey's kisses (1 serving)
14 oz water
1 glass milk

1/4 cup (maybe less) black beans
